• The sink is finished on all four sides and is reversible. It has a solid thickness of 1 inch (2.5 cm) around its entire perimeter.
• This sink is made of fireclay, the highest quality clay available, superior to porcelain thanks to its higher firing temperatures and times. It's made from 100% white clay, unlike cast iron sinks, which are made from iron and simply coated with a layer of clay. It can withstand very hot pots and pans without issue, unlike fiberglass sinks. In short, these sinks are extremely durable and will last for many years.
• This sink can be installed in three different ways, all with an exposed front apron. The most common is undermount installation, where the countertop extends over the sink's edge. Another option is flush-mount installation, where the countertop and the top edge of the sink are exactly the same height; in this case, the silicone sealant between the sink and countertop will be visible. The third option is top-mount installation, where the countertop rests against the side of the sink, which protrudes above the countertop height. This should not be confused with drop-in installation, for which this sink is not designed.
• Due to the organic nature of the fireclay material, dimensions may vary up to 1/8 inch (3 mm). We recommend having the sink at the installation site to trace and measure the cutouts for the countertop and cabinets.
• This sink has an extra-thick bottom, so it requires a drain with a longer screw than usual. We recommend Whitehaus RNW35L (brass) or RNW50L (plastic) strainers and the WH202 garbage disposal trim.
